MEP: Project Smart Making Mathematics Meaningful

Making Mathematics Meaningful is a Texas Summer Math Program designed for students enrolled in summer migrant program to improve their math skills through scientifically-based instruction, technology integration, and parent involvement.  Attendees will be trained on implementing the Making Mathematics Meaningful summer curriculum for all migrant students attending.

Project SMART: Making Mathematics Meaningful is a Texas summer math migrant program created by the Texas Education Agency as part of the MEP Capacity Building and Curriculum Initiative Grant.

The objectives and activities of Project SMART were designed for the most mobile students enrolled in summer migrant programs. The overarching goal of the project is to improve the math skills of migrant students through scientifically-based instruction, professional development, and parent involvement. It is used across Texas each summer.
