Description:
In this session, participants will explore the research and current trends around cognitive processing and language development to better understand factors and constructs that are linked to deficits in listening comprehension and oral expression. This knowledge will be linked to the requirements for the determination of the disability conditions of SI and SLD as well as considerations for eligibility decisions by the ARD committee. The participants will develop an understanding of the importance of collaboration between all evaluators to determine how best to support a student in various academic settings. This session will also cover how to support language and cognitive development in early childhood and the red flags and markers to assess.
