Solution Focused Counseling
(Virtual) Solution-Focused Overview and Practical Applications and Concepts of Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (Chapters 1, 2 and Chapter 4)




Join ESC19 as we invite Dr. Sabella, the author of Solution-Focused School Counseling: The Missing Manual, for four virtual and one in-person session. These sessions are designed as a book study to better understand the Solution-Focused Brief Counseling approach.  You will learn about the principles, guidelines, and techniques of solution-focused brief counseling. Then, you will discover practical ways you can use the SFBC model in different areas of your practice. Each participant enrolled by October 31, 2023, will receive the book and is asked to read the chapters before the sessions.

Please see the descriptions and dates below. ESC Staff will register you for the December, January, March and In-Person sessions. Once registered, you will receive an email confirmation which includes the Zoom link to register for the login link to the session. 

December 11, 2023, 12:30 - 1:30 MST Virtual Solution-Focused Techniques and Activities (Chapter 3 and Chapter 9). 

January 29, 2024, 12:30 - 1:30 MST Virtual Solution Focused Advising, Supervision, Groups, and Leadership, Progress Monitor Goals (Chapters 5 and 7) 

March 25, 2024, 12:30 - 1:30 MST Virtual Behavior Interventions and Supporting Teachers and Parents (Chapter 8 and Chapter 6)    
            
May 16, 2024, In-Person 8:30 - 3:30 pm 


In our in-person session, we will put the pieces together, and you will learn about the principles, guidelines, and techniques of solution-focused brief counseling. Then, you will discover practical ways you can use the SFBC model in different areas, such as:
