Active Learning Academy - Day 5
Part II

The Active Learning Academy is a 7-day training over the course of the school year to train teachers in using the Active Learning method. Active Learning was developed by Dr. Lilli Nielsen for children with visual impairments and multiple disabilities. This training will target how to work with students with Low Incidence Disabilities regardless of their chronological age. Participants will learn to recognize that learning for individuals with multiple disabilities happens better when there is active learning involved.  Participants will receive the Functional Scheme Assessment, FIELA Curriculum and materials, and supplies to make materials that can be used immediately in the classroom with their students as well as follow-up classroom visits.

*This is part II (day 5) of the Active Learning AcademyFor more information, contact Leah Wood at or Part III is tentatively scheduled for January 15-16, 2020.

If you are new to this academy,  you will have an opportunity to attend Day 1-4 during the summer of 2020 at the cost of $200 per participant and you will receive the FIELA curriculum at the end of day 4.
