Sheltered Instruction: Teaching Academic Content to ELs

ESC-Region 19 serves approximately 46,000 English Learners. It is crucial for teachers to design sheltered instruction that addresses their cognitive, linguistic and effective domains to ensure academic success. In this full day session, content area teachers will gain a basic understanding of sheltered instruction and how to support their English Learners in accessing content curriculum. Participants will learn to integrate sheltered instruction strategies to their daily instruction to improve academic outcomes for English Learners.
