All you ever wanted to know about Section 504! Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination against persons with disabilities in all programs and activities conducted by recipients of federal financial assistance. Participants will gain an understanding of Section 504 and individual responsibilities. Components of eligibility for Section 504 will be reviewed. The complex obligations of Section 504 are often misunderstood by those who are responsible for implementing its provisions. Come learn, through hands on problem solving, how this law impacts your responsibility to provide a free and appropriate public education and gain access to a live binder for continued support.
