The primary purpose for vision screening of pre-school and school-aged children is to detect existing or potential vision problems that may affect psychological or perceptual processes of vision or may interfere with performance in school. Generally, children will not outgrow vision problems; therefore, early intervention is very important. Participants will understand the laws, implementation strategies, and vision screening technique for Texas school-aged children. This Texas Department of Health Certification Course meets state requirements for vision screening of school-aged children.
