Important Breakout Information:

The WTRS Leadership pathway session is designed for district and campus leaders who are ready to move beyond compliance and toward coherent, high-impact systems that strengthen district culture and improve student outcomes.

Keynote speaker, Todd Davis from TEA, will help participants explore practical change management strategies grounded in research-based leadership principles. The session will provide actionable tools to build urgency, develop guiding coalitions, remove structural barriers, and sustain momentum during instructional shifts. In addition, Dr. Cruz from Solution Tree will engage leaders in structured protocols to develop and refine professional learning teams that promote collective efficacy, data-driven decision-making, and instructional coherence.

In addition, participants will learn how to strategically leverage Education Service Center supports as a collaborative partner in literacy implementation. Through aligned professional learning, coaching, and technical assistance, ESC services can help districts strengthen Tier 1 systems, build leadership capacity, and accelerate progress toward accountability goals.

Leaders will leave with clear frameworks, planning tools, and partnership strategies to lead instructional change that results in stronger culture, increased teacher capacity, and measurable student success. This grant funded event is sponsored by the West Texas Reading Symposium being held on August 19, 2026.
