West Texas Reading Symposium

The West Texas Reading Symposium: will take place August 28 - 29, 2025. We invite you to join other educators for this event that will focus on the science of reading and biliteracy.  All sessions will be in-person and onsite at the Starlight Event Center located at 6650 Continental Dr, El Paso, TX 79925.   

This is a free conference funded by the Texas Reading Initiative Grant

  • Current K-12 teachers in a Texas public or charter school.
  • Must be a fully certified teacher in the state of Texas.
  • Must have a current school email address on file through Click & Learn.

Important Breakout Information:
The West Texas Reading Symposium strives to improve evidence-based literacy instruction to secondary educators. By improving literacy instructional practices into a well-rounded education experience, our secondary students will be given the opportunity to hone their literacy skills. Sessions will span across contents. Because all of our students are expected to read and write in all their contents, all secondary educators are encouraged to attend.
