How can schools create consistent, effective behavior supports that get everyone on the same page? This interactive session from our partners, Insights to Behavior, equips administrators, teachers, counselors, and support staff with a practical framework for understanding, preventing, and responding to student behavior.
Participants will examine their philosophy of behavior, explore why students engage in challenging behaviors, and learn how to develop clear, observable, and measurable operational definitions. This 3-hour session will introduce the ABC model, reinforcement and punishment contingencies, functions of behavior, and foundational Functional Behavior Assessment practices. Participants will also explore proactive, replacement, and reactive intervention strategies; schoolwide and classroom expectations; meaningful data collection; trauma- and grief-sensitive supports; and approaches for addressing significant disproportionality. The session will conclude with an overview of how Insights to Behavior can support consistent behavior management and intervention planning.
