This course equips you to transform classroom conflict into meaningful accountability and connection through restorative “Repair the Harm” dialogues. By mastering “Student-Led” and “Academic” circles, you’ll empower your students and teachers to lead with empathy and build a school culture where every voice is valued.

Through interactive discussions and role play activities, this course will cover essential topics such as repairing harm (conflict), teaching students how their behavior affects others, understanding Peer-Led circles, and implementing Academic Circles. Participants will gain the skills to facilitate open dialogue in conflicts through guided questions with students and families. The participants will understand their role as a Restorative Practitioner or Restorative Coordinator in helping individuals repair harm and rebuild relationships and learn how to support individuals in accepting responsibility for their actions. Participants will learn how to empower students to take the role as facilitators in Peer-Led Circles, instilling leadership and sense of community among students. Finally, participants will learn how to utilize Academic Circles as a way for teachers to build connection and voice while teaching their content area.

Tier 1: Administrator Training for Community Building Circles is a pre-requisite for this 6-hour course.
