Objectives:
1.Identify challenges students with complex access needs may encounter when engaging with age-appropriate texts in the general education classroom (e.g., decoding, vocabulary, comprehension, physical access, expressive response).
2. Select appropriate low- and mid–level assistive technology tools to support access (reading, writing, page navigation) and communication (response, presentation) for these students.
3. Adapt an existing age-appropriate text (modify text, add symbols/pictures, adjust format, provide alternative access modes) so that students with complex access needs can meaningfully engage with it.
