Adapting Reading Instruction for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities




This session provides educators with specific strategies for supporting students with significant cognitive disabilities in developing early literacy skills. Participants will learn how to incorporate sensory materials and assistive technologies to promote reading engagement and comprehension. Special focus will be placed on vertical alignment with TEKS to ensure students develop reading skills that build progressively from foundational to grade-level expectations.
