This four-day professional development training series is specifically designed to support PBIS teams from the Socorro Independent School District and to strengthen their capacity to support student behavior, mental health, and academic success through a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
DAY 1: The training will begin with foundational knowledge of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and the critical role of family partnerships.
DAY 2: The second day will focus on identifying and addressing student mental health needs within MTSS frameworks.
DAY 3: Participants will explore strategies for responding proactively to challenging behaviors, using insights from Breaking the Behavior Code, and will also learn about the implementation of restorative practices and family collaboration.
DAY 4: Participants will examine the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and trauma on student learning, equipping educators with trauma-informed practices to better support students' academic and emotional needs.
