Beyond Restraint: Behavior Through a Different Lens – CPI Certified Instructor Regional Summit 2025
By Invitation ONLY

The primary goal of this two-day summit is to deepen the practice and leadership capacity of certified NCI instructors by sharpening their institutional focus toward prevention, de-escalation, and trauma-informed responses. The summit will examine how to strengthen region-wide implementation of CPI principles in order to minimize physical interventions and emphasize relational, restorative approaches to behavior.

Participants will:

  • Collaboratively explore strategies to elevate de-escalation techniques over physical interventions.
  • Identify and mitigate systemic triggers that lead to crisis situations in schools.
  • Enhance training approaches for district personnel with a focus on non-physical responses.
  • Discuss and develop strategies for ongoing coaching and modeling within campuses.
  • Engage in district-level data review on incidents involving restraint to guide improvement plans.
  • Build a professional learning network of NCI instructors across regional districts.
  • Participate in re-certification training on day two of the summit.
