The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is offering administrators an overview of the instructional components highlighted in the Mathematics Achievement Academies for Grades K-3 that their teachers attended or will attend.
The overview is designed to allow administrators at eligible campuses to
- identify mathematics content and effective and systematic instructional practices in the Mathematics Achievement Academies as outlined by the Texas Legislature;
- review hands-on activities designed to engage teachers in grade-level mathematics, appropriate formative assessment strategies, and professional discourse;
- reflect upon ways teachers have transferred learning to practice in their classrooms; and
- determine evidence that students are being impacted by teacher attendance at a Mathematics Achievement Academy.
- support the implementation by engaging in effective coaching practices
