MEP: A Bright Beginning Curriculum Training
2024 - 2025 Home Based Fall Training




A Bright Beginning is an Early Literacy Program for 3 and 4 year old children in the Migrant Program.  It is a high-quality, researched-based resource aligned to the Revised Texas Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines centered on cross curricular themes.

Participants will receive information about content and language objectives as well as curriculum connections in the areas of Phonemic Awareness, Read Aloud, manipulative, fine and gross motor skills, eye-hand coordination, shapes, colors, and home connections.

Important Session Information:


Participant Educators will  gain knowledge on how to implement  A Bright Beginning (ABB) curriculum, an early literacy program for three- and four-year old children in the Texas Migrant Education Program who are NOT enrolled in Pre-K, Kindergarten, or Head Start. The purpose of ABB is to build the early literacy skills of migratory children and to involve parents in the education of their children. Children who participate in this program develop the pre-reading skills necessary to be successful in kindergarten.
