the purpose of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act is to identify and remove barriers for homeless children and unaccompanied youth and ensure that students in these circumstances have equitable access to all available support and resources to meet the same challenging state academic standards established for all students.

Important Session Information:


Author Alessandra Narvaez Varela will provide a writing workshop to McKinney-Vento students, based on her book Thirty Talks Weird Love, written in elegant, kaleidoscopic verse, this honest and funny debut novel extends a loving hand to anyone struggling with stress and depression, and gives a new meaning to the phase "self-love."
