Title IX Training
May 11 (AM Session)

It is essential to note that all agencies that receive federal funding, regardless of their participation in the Perkins CTE program, are subject to federal civil rights statutes that prohibit discrimination based on race, color, national origin, disability, sex, and age. The upcoming training session will offer insights into key requirements of Title IX, a federal law that mandates institutions receiving federal funding to refrain from sex-based discrimination. The session aims to shed light on the duties and responsibilities of school districts' Title IX Coordinators, the need for localized Title IX anti-discrimination policies, and the specific requirements for local Title IX grievance procedures. It is especially relevant to note these in the current context, as the US Department of Education is in the process of amending Title IX regulations in this area. The session will further explore important guidance provided by the OCR on the topic and requirements for grievance procedures addressing discrimination based on disability under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
