Session Detail

The Active Learning Academy for Paraprofessionals is a 2-day training to train paraprofessionals in using the Active Learning method. Active Learning was developed by Dr. Lilli Nielsen for children with visual impairments and multiple disabilities. This training will target how to work with students with Low Incidence Disabilities regardless of their chronological age. Participants will learn to recognize that learning for individuals with multiple disabilities happens better when there is active learning involved.  Participants will receive the materials and supplies to make equipment that can be used immediately in the classroom with their students as well as follow-up classroom visits.
