We're Off to See the Wizard! Adapted Books and Active Learning

Join us on an adventure down the yellow brick road!  This make-n-take session will explore many ways literature and literacy lessons can be accommodated to meet the needs of a variety of students such as autism and other low incidence disabilities with complex learning needs.(Visual, Speech, Motor, Sensory and/or Multiple Impairments)

Participants will explore tools to assess students' literacy levels and their ability to access literature.  These assessments will be used to determine literacy instruction and supports needed for student success.

Each participant will leave with their adapted book from the classic "Wizard of Oz", other materials to support literacy instruction and a ton of ideas!

Let’s explore ways to adapt books to give ALL students opportunities to have access to ALL literature!
