Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a systems approach to establish the social culture and the behavioral supports needed for all children in a school to achieve both social and academic success (Sugai & Horner, 2002). PBIS is not a new intervention package or a theory of behavior. It is the application of a behaviorally based systems approach to enhance the capacity of schools, families, and communities to design and facilitate effective environments where teaching and learning can occur.
If you are interested in learning practical ways to implement PBIS in all types of schools (elementary, secondary, and alternative education settings) and, most importantly, how to develop, support, and sustain a quality PBIS system – a system producing exemplary results. The focus of this one day in-person event will focus on 5 Benchmarks of Quality for Tier 3 implementation.
