2021 Legal Update for SLPs and Early Childhood Teachers Virtual Session




Join Jan Watson, an attorney with Walsh Gallegos Trevino Kyle and Robinson, P.C. in a review of recent case law incorporating hypothetical and practical strategies addressing implementation and documentation focused on assisting speech language pathologists and early childhood educators as they implement Individual Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. Prior to law school, Jan served as an educational diagnostician and teacher of students who were deaf and hard-of-hearing. 

Learner Outcomes:

  • Attendees will identify strategies to address common errors in documenting the provision of services for students with disabilities.
  • Attendees will relate recent case law to their provision of speech/language services and other special education services, including those for young children with disabilities. 
  • Attendees will identify strategies to address documentation to support implementation of accommodations.
