Classroom management is essential to good instructional delivery. In this 6-hour virtual class the following topics will be explored:
1. Building positive relationships with students
2. Critical features of evidence-based classroom management practices
a. Designing environments that maximize structure.
b. Post, teach, review, monitor and reinforce a small number of positively stated expectations.
c. Actively engaging students in observable ways.
d. Establish a continuum of strategies to acknowledge appropriate behavior.
e. Establish a continuum of strategies to respond to inappropriate behavior.
3. Classroom management in a virtual environment
Participants will learn how to self-evaluate their use of evidence-based practices in classroom management and develop products that will assist them in continuous improvement. This class is designed for new and seasoned educators who are teaching in grades K-12.
