Good mental health is critical to children’s success in school and life. Research demonstrates that students who receive social–emotional and mental health support achieve better academically. School climate, classroom behavior, on-task learning, and students’ sense of connectedness and well-being all improve as well. The goal of this conference is to improve mental health literacy among educators and school staff. Mental health literacy is defined as:
1. Understanding how to foster and maintain good mental health/wellness
2. Understanding mental health conditions/disorders
3. Decreasing stigma
4. Understanding how to seek help effectively
Join us as we spend two days discussing how to effectively address Mental Health and Wellness in classrooms and schools all across our region.
