ACTIVE LEARNING ACADEMY

The Active Learning Academy is a 7-day training over the course of the school year to train teachers in using the Active Learning method. Active Learning was developed by Dr. Lilli Nielsen for children with visual impairments and multiple disabilities. This training will target how to work with students with Low Incidence Disabilities regardless of their chronological age. Participants will learn to recognize that learning for individuals with multiple disabilities happens better when there is active learning involved.  Participants will receive the Functional Scheme Assessment, FIELA Curriculum and materials, and supplies to make materials that can be used immediately in the classroom with their students as well as follow-up classroom visits.

Please be aware that the dates for this session were changed to July 20-23rd!

*PARTICIPANTS  MUST  ATTEND  ALL  8  DAYS  OF  TRAINING!

Days 5-8 will be scheduled throughout the 2020-2021 school year and will include Make and Take sessions & follow-up classroom visits to help set up and document progress; dates TBD.

Initial Fee for July 20-23, 2020 is $200 per person

Fee for Day 5-8 will be $200 per person during the 2020-2021 school year!
