With over 20 years of experience in education, John has served as a choir teacher at Longview High School, principal at the Gilmer Elementary School, Hallsville Middle School, and Hallsville High School, and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment at Tatum ISD in Tatum, Texas, and superintendent of Blue Ridge ISD in Blue Ridge, Texas. He currently serves as the superintendent of Carthage ISD in Carthage, TX. His core belief is that school leadership is student achievement. With a focus on supporting and empowering all staff to become leaders, all schools under John's leadership have achieved the highest levels of academic growth and extracurricular performance.
Using his proven and successful experiences in developing high performing schools, John teaches and coaches principals, teachers, teams, and schools so they can create focused plans of academic improvement. Tapping into the individual and collective strength of the organization, teams are guided to create more efficient processes that align relevant instruction to rigorous assessments. Once leaders are equipped with tools to establish a guaranteed and viable curriculum, teachers and leaders can work collaboratively to create a system of interventions for both students and staff.
