The Texas State Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program (GEAR UP) is a federal initiative (six-year program) designed to increase early college awareness, access, readiness, and success for low-income and historically underrepresented students beginning in the seventh grade.  

Texas GEAR UP provides resources for educators, students and parents on topics including:

  • College Readiness & Awareness
  • Advanced Academics
  • Promising Outreach Practices
  • Financial Aid
  • Parent Involvement
  • Mentors, Mindsets and Relationships
  • ...and many more
