The purpose of creating an ESC Region 19 – Wells Fargo scholarship is to provide financial support and community recognition of outstanding students who are graduates of the Head Start program and have persevered in public education, arriving at their senior year on track to graduate with their academic cohort and are encouraged by the prospect of furthering their education at the collegiate level.  Increasing the education level of students throughout the county has additional benefit of providing a more skilled labor force.  The creation of these scholarships also establishes partnerships between private sector entities and public education.
