Teachers and students deserve school environments that are safe, supportive, and conducive to teaching and learning. Creating a supportive school climate—and decreasing suspensions and expulsions—requires close attention to the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of all students.
Participants will learn strategies for the elementary classroom that will benefit all students, especially students with challenging behaviors. During this workshop participants will experience techniques that help get students better focused, improve negative emotions, decrease student anxiety, and improve brain function. These mindful practices when combined with standard classroom management techniques will reduce the need for challenging students to act out in ways that are inappropriate and provide them with tools to restore their emotional balance.
