Behavior Mapping: A Visual Strategy for Teaching Appropriate Behavior to Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders




Introduction:

Behavior Mapping complements other visual strategies that are available to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Come learn how to create visual maps to help students whose primary learning style is visual become better problem solvers by literally showing them cause and effect and choice in various situations.

Participants will create:  Consequence Maps, Language Maps and Problem-Solving Maps.

This strategy will assist students become more successful learners and reduce the incidence of unacceptable behavior.

Hands-on work and Make-n-Take activities will also be included!
