Autism 101-An Introduction to Understanding Autism




Autism 101 is a beginning level training that will give the learner an in-depth understanding of the characteristics of Autism and the complex challenges faced by individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Training will discuss the history of Autism, the characteristics of Autism, and describe the challenging areas of Autism with an emphasis on behavior, communication and social skills.  Participants will gain an understanding through this introduction and overview of the disability of Autism and how it impacts the learning and social process.  Some suggestions for specific strategies and techniques for working with individuals with Autism will be introduced.
