Solving the Behavior Puzzle: Building Connections for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders




Introduction:

Working with individuals with Autism can be challenging.  This training was created as a tool to provide basic information to parents and professionals working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders for the first time.

The goal is to provide training on the concepts and strategies that develop positive behavioral skills in students with Autism Spectrum Disorders in an effort to create consistency in knowledge throughout the state of Texas. 

Overview:

Learners will be able to:

    *define and understand the components of ABA (applied behavior analysis) 

    *identify research-based strategies that teach and develop behavioral skills

    *develop a systematic plan for the prevention and intervention of specific

     behavioral needs
