The
Institute on Effective Instruction for Struggling Readers: Research Based
Practices is intended for elementary level educators who are teaching
struggling readers. The purpose of the Institute is to provide: basic literacy
content and instructional adaptations so that students can access the
curriculum, information about the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS),
and objectives that can relate to Individualized Education Program (IEP goals). Each session will focus on a specific component of literacy.
