5th Annual Mental Health in Schools Virtual Conference

The theme for this year’s virtual conference is “Teachers Plant SEADs: Social Emotional Abilities & Direction”. Join us for two days of high-quality presentations by some top SEL leaders. Sessions will include topics on trauma and how it impacts our students, the connection between self-regulation and emotional wellness, and brain development and the science of brain breaks. All education professionals are welcome. Perfect for district and school personnel who are interested in implementing SEL approaches and programs this school year.

Tuesday – Oct. 12th

Session #1: “Teaching to be Mindful”

Description: This presentation will explain how teachers can recognize student social and emotional issues and implement mindfulness during class for those students. Some techniques will be provided to use in the classroom. 

Session #2: “Trauma 101”

Description: What is Trauma, how does it impact our youth, and what works.

Wednesday – Oct. 13th

Session #3: “That Last Nerve: The Power of Self-Regulation” 

Description: Self-regulation tools to use to help you remain regulated during charged situations.

Session #4: “Unlocking the Brain and Strategies to Shift Our Approach”

Description: This session will share Brain Breaks as a strategy tied to the brain and include the Power to Influence Continuum to address the power of our non-verbal approaches to regulating students and ourselves.
